Meet Kerryn

Bio

Kerryn Loesner is a self-taught contemporary abstract artist based in New Jersey. She creates layered, emotional paintings that bring energy, presence, and story into a space. Before fully stepping into her art practice, she spent more than 12 years as a fundraising director, raising millions of dollars by listening closely to people’s stories and what inspires them to act. That human connection was always her favorite part of the work. Those same instincts now shape her art, where paint says the things words can’t.

Artist Statement

Inspired by nature and captivated by the moments that stay with us—the ones we replay in our mind, laugh about, or carry quietly for years. I’m fascinated by the way memory works: how certain stories, emotions, and experiences keep resurfacing and become part of who we are. The moments may pass, but they don’t really leave us.

Using acrylic, oil stick, and charcoal, I create abstract paintings that are layered with emotion, and lived experience. I’m not interested in painting perfection. I’m interested in painting what it feels like to be alive: to love, to learn, to remember, to grow, to keep going.

I believe our stories mean everything. The crazy ones. The intimate ones. The unforgettable ones. Through painting, I bring those moments to life.
